Senior Exhibition: The Room
I had the great opportunity of working alongside some of the most talented classmates I have ever met. Being able to create this collaborative senior exhibition was one of the highlights of my undergraduate career at Michigan State University. Showcasing some of my most successful works I have created at this institution while unifying them alongside other successful works created by my classmates was a unique experience.
More about The Room…
Within this collaborative exhibition The Room, we aimed to capture the welcoming atmosphere that comes with visiting someone else’s home. As the people living under one roof have their great differences and similarities, so do the artists and their works featured within this exhibition. It’s in this way that we were able to showcase all our individual styles with our pieces, while also uniting them to function as a single unit. We have engaged our visitors to view all the individual aspects our exhibition had to offer while not losing the sense of unity.
My works that were included in The Room vary from acrylic paintings, ceramics, colored pencil illustrations, graphic design and lithographic prints. As one can see, my cultural influences are depicted within my works of art and with these recurring themes, they allow me to work in different mediums that enable to tell my story.
